The blade of this knife is crafted from Crucible® CPM® S90V®—a state-of-the-art powder metallurgy stainless steel enriched with vanadium. The high vanadium content favors the formation of hard vanadium carbides instead of chromium carbides, increasing the steel's wear resistance and edge-holding properties while leaving additional free chromium available to enhance corrosion resistance. This knife’s PlainEdge™ blade is full-flat ground for exceptional edge geometry and features an oversized Trademark Round Hole™ for swift, ambidextrous, one-handed opening. It also features a low-profile black Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) coating to eliminate its reflectiveness in tactical environments.
Not to be outdone, the handle of this unique Sprint Run features stunning black and brown "burl" G-10 scales. Unlike conventional G-10, which is constructed with flat layers of fiberglass soaked in epoxy resin and cured under heat and pressure, the layers of this material are folded before being compressed. When machined, they reveal a dramatic, random-patterned color contrast reminiscent of wood burl. The scales are mounted to full stainless steel liners that house the knife's patented Ball Bearing Lock™ and support its reversible tip-up carry clip. To complement the blade’s DLC finish, the clip and all the knife's handle hardware are also black coated.
